Leonard Reichlin died March 19, 2008. He will be greatly missed. Leonard and Margaret (Peggy) Reichlin founded Reichlin Funeral Home on the old Winkles homestead in 1948.

Len was born and raised in Lorain and is a graduate of St. Joseph College in Indiana. He served with the US Army during WWII with the 102nd Evacuation Hospital in the European Theatre. Upon return he attended and graduated from the Cleveland Mortuary School in 1941. He has always been active in the Elyria area and served as 1st ward councilman for 6 years before being elected Mayor of Elyria in 1966. He spent several years as Director of CETA and JPTA in Lorain County before successfully running in 1980 for Lorain County Commissioner, a job he held for 6 years. He is a past member of the Elyria Eagles, Elyria Kiwanis, and both the Ohio Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. He is a life member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion, AARP, and a 3rd and 4th Degree of the Knights of Columbus. He along with his wife are founding members of St. Jude Church.

Len is survived by his wife, Peg, and seven children, Paul, Bonnie Roberts, Mark, Mary Carol Britt, Jim, Dianne Reece, and Michael.
