Anthony ThomeAnthony W. Thome, 58 years old of North Ridgeville, Ohio died suddenly on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at St. John West Shore Hospital in Westlake, Ohio.

Mr. Thome was born on September 14, 1951 in Elyria, Ohio and lived in North Ridgeville for the past 20 years.  He was employed by the Ford Motor Company, Avon Lake Plant in maintenance for 35 years, retiring in 2008.  He was a member of the UAW Local 2000.   He was an avid boater and fisherman.  He loved gardening and spending time with his family.  He never met a person that he wouldn’t help - he would give the shirt on his back for a friend in need.

He is survived by his wife, Marianne (nee Woodhead) to whom he was married for 37 years; one daughter, Stephanie M. Thome, at home; three sons, John Wilson of Tiffin, Jason S. Thome of Amherst, and Anthony Wayne Thome, Jr. of Cleveland.  He is also survived by three grandchildren, Alyssa, Brayden, and Avery; and two sisters Judith Shober and Marcia Kennedy, both of Elyria.  

Mr. Thome was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Campbell and Sharon Smith and his parents, Anthony F. and Wilma C. (nee Coon) Thome.

Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Ohio on Sunday, April 11, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.  Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Monday, April 12, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with the Deacon Edward Dillon officiating.  Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery, North Ridgeville, Ohio.

I'm sorry to hear that Tony has passed. I remember when Thome's Greenhouse was across the street. He did like to fish and hunt and I always watched when hi cleaned his critter of the day. He LOVED that Chevy he had. We had a great time growing up together.

My family and I are so sorry for your loss. We have worked with "Tony" at OHAP for many years. He was a joy to be with and will be surely missed. May God bless you and give you strength.

I worked with Tony at Ohio Truck Plant during the seventies. He was a good friend who had us laughing at his jokes, yet always willing to lend a helping hand to keep things running. I’ll miss my friend. God Bless.

I worked with Tony at Ford for many years and I remember him for his kind and gentle nature. My prayer is that God will give you strength during this very difficult time.
