Robert John Majoras, 54 years old of Elyria, Ohio passed away on Monday, May 3, 2010 at his home following an 11 month battle with esophageal cancer.
Bob was born on March 21, 1956 in Lorain, Ohio and lived in Elyria for the past 40 years. He was a 1974 graduate of Elyria Catholic High School. After graduation, he attended The Ohio State University.
He started his life of serving others at the age of 14 by becoming a certified EMT, assisting his family with the Majoras Ambulance Service. He served as a firefighter for the City of Elyria for 30 years, later in his career being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Along with his wife, Cindi, Bob was the owner of both Beal Street Limousine and CABAS Enterprises, livery companies serving Northeast Ohio for over twenty years.
Bob enjoyed coaching youth basketball. He operated several AAU teams, but most recently, he helped coach CYO basketball. He was an avid bowler and golfer, but his greatest expertise was playing cards.
Bob’s greatest joy came from his family. His first grandchild, Robert Christopher, was born on March 23, 2010, and Bob was able to witness his grandson’s baptism just two days before his passing.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Cynthia (nee Rodak); two sons, Robert Michael (Stacy) of Elyria and Granger, Indiana, and Ryan John of Elyria; and grandson Robert Christopher. Bob is also survived by one brother, Richard (Mary) Majoras of North Ridgeville and two sisters, Rosemarie (Vic) Jasinski of Amherst, and Eileen (Matt) Maiher of Columbia, Tennessee; one niece and five nephews, and the brotherhood of firefighters who supported both Bob and his family throughout his courageous fight.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Theresa (Nee Czarney) Majoras.
All who knew Bob will miss his wonderful sense of humor and quick wit that made him the unique individual that he was.
Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Ohio 44035 on Friday, May 7, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-9 P.M. Closing prayers will be on Saturday, May 8, 2010 in the funeral home at 8:30 A.M. followed by mass at 9:00 A.M. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 590 Poplar Street, Elyria, Ohio. Reverend Father Frank P. Kosem and Reverend Norman Gajdzinski will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church, 590 Poplar Street, Elyria, Ohio or the Elyria Catholic High School Endowment Fund, 725 Gulf Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.

Dear Majoras Family,
Although deeply saddened to hear the news of Bob's passing, I must say that I take pride in knowing him and playing basketball for him. He was always an inspirational coach and provided a good foundation for fostering development in his players. Bob's leadership was something that I believe has helped shape me and others. I will continue to remember him fondly.

We are so sincerely sorry for your loss. Bob drove my family and myself
for the funeral of my husband 3 years ago.
He was so kind that day. He was a caring person and it was obvious to
me. I do remember him when I'm recalling my memories and he will always
be in my memories.
I hugged and thanked him as he brought us back to the house after the
funeral.
May God stay with you during the difficult days ahead.
Bob, rest in peace.

Our deepest sympathy to the Majoras Family. Our family has known the Majoras family for decades, personally and through business. Our dad was a very good friend of John and our mom, a dear friend of Theresa. Bob was a great and thoughtful person and will be missed by all.

Dear Majoras Family,
I am so sorry to have read of your loss. Please accept my sincere condolences. Something that I have found to be of great comfort is the thoughts expressed at John 5:28,29 And Revelation 21:4. In these verses we see that soon God is going to bring about a resurrection of our lobed ones and that God is going to do away with all causes we have for suffering including sickness and death, Knowing this has always brought me great comfort and it is my sincere hope that these thoughts comfort your family as well. Again I am so sorry for your loss.
Rebekah.
