Edith Schroeder, 82 years old, of Elyria, Ohio died on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin, Ohio following a long illness.

Edith was born on March 7, 1928 in Elyria and lived here for all of her life. She was a graduate of Elyria High School and was employed as a bookkeeper at Harshaw Chemical Company. Edith was a member and past president of the American Business Woman’s Association. She enjoyed crafts, painting, crocheting, and camping.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Earl) Minney of LaGrange, Ohio, Nancy (George) Marquis of Grafton; a stepson, Dennis Schroeder of Elyria; four grandchildren, Donald and David Minney and Corrie and Michael Marquis; and six great grandchildren. Edith is also survived by one brother, James Suhanic of Michigan and one sister, Marion Draper of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl (Red) Schroeder; and her parents, John and Dorothy (nee Smith) Schroeder.

Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Ohio 44035 on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 A.M. with the Reverend Frederick Young, Pastor of Liberty Baptist Church in Elyria, officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to New Life Hospice of St. Joseph, 5255 North Abbe Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.

You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Please accept our sincere sympathy. We loved Edie very much. She was a true friend for over 30 years and will be missed.
